Come Home for Homecoming!

We're extremely excited for our 2023 Homecoming "For I am not Ashamed." This year, we'll be expanding on our perennial theme of Building for the Glory of God by exploring how we do so by the unfailing Power of the Gospel. It is a powerful purpose made manifest in God's plan, and we are equipped and capable to carry it out!

We've an amazing week planned, featuring four full days of solid, soul-stirring sermons by our exceptionally talented guest preacher, Bro. Samuel Bailey. You can learn more about him below. However, we're not stopping there. To lead into the week, we're going to have a Citywide Songfest on that Saturday the 11th, featuring some of the best song leaders Oklahoma City has to offer. Traditionally, we've invited choruses and singing groups, but this year, we're going to be the chorus, raising our voices, hearts and praise to God with some mighty congregational music. The Bible tells us that there will be singing in Heaven; get ready for a sneak peek Saturday night!

As always, just as your soul will be fed with the living bread of the Word, your body will be fed with a feast fit for our family. Our sisters are blessings to the kitchen, and they never fail to fill both our plates and spirits. We'll be having our Family Meal directly following morning service on that Sunday, so come with both a ready heart and a hearty appetite. Our meal will cap off the day, allowing us time to get home early and rest up for the rest of the week ahead.

It's going to be a mighty, mighty time in the Lord, and you don't want to miss it. We'll see you at Home this Homecoming!

Meet the Preacher

Bro. Samuel Bailey hails from Corsicana, Texas, and has been coaching, teaching, and preaching for over 25 years. He has been married to his lovely wife Lori, with whom he shares two beautiful daughters, for 20 years.

Samuel attended and graduated from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education and a minor in youth and family ministry. Upon graduation, Samuel headed to Los Angeles, earning his master's in Curriculum and instruction while teaching at View Park College Preparatory. He also worked in various areas of ministry at the Figueroa Church under the mentorship of his father-in-law, Bro. Calvin Bowers.

Samuel succeeded Bro. Ben Foster as the minister for the Cedar Valley Church of Christ and has served there for 13 years. While managing church and family, he is continuing his education at ACU, studying to earn his master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Samuel is currently in his practicum as a clinical therapist at Lifeologie Midlothian and eventually wants to practice privately while working as a conflict and life coach. He feels blessed to be called to serve in the kingdom and looks forward to many years of quality service to the Lord and his local congregation.
